East-West Center International Media Conference
PCI is proud to support the Spring 2012 Seoul International Media Conference
With growing interest among journalists in using social media in their professions, South Korea, the most wired nation in the world, is the perfect place to hold the third EWC international media conference. South Korea is a very dynamic, interesting country in many ways: IT prowess, economic success, security issues, cultural impact. It has a free and lively media, including OhMyNews, the pioneer of citizen reporting. EWC also has excellent media partners in South Korea, including the Korea Press Foundation, Journalists Association of Korea, and close to 100 alumni of EWC media programs. The Seoul venue should attract a high number of journalists from the main Northeast Asia countries – Korea, Japan and China. This will allow us to hold conference sessions that continue the “building bridges” process among Northeast Asian journalists that we carried out in two earlier dialogues co-sponsored by PCI. (
